Time for action. We propose that the playing field is made into a 'Town Green', which everyone can use and this would help prevent any future development of the playing field and land surrounding it. Here is what you need to do:
1. Print off the leaflet and petition.

2. Go around your neighbours, give them a leaflet and ask them to sign the petition. Ideally the area needs to include all Broadway and all streets going off Broadway especially Milton Road/Crescent, Snapethorpe Gate and Aysgarth).
3. Return the petitions to me.
4. You can also send a letter/email to the Chief Exec of the Council Merran McRae (Wakefield Council, Wakefield One, PO Box 700, Wakefield, WF1 2EB, Email: firstname.lastname@example.org), and our MP (Mary Creagh, 20-22 Cheapside, Wakefield WF1 2TF, Phone: 01924 386124, Email: email@example.com) in support of the town green.
The town green already has the support of our three councillors and it is a very good idea.
We need to go out and spread the message (give out the leaflets and get the petition signed) - do not assume that someone else has already done it - its better to have it done more than once.
This will put out a clear message to the Council - Save Lupset Greenfields - hands off!
